But having diverse idealogy is a good thing. Life is pointless otherwise. |
chinese communism is the most perverted thing that could ever exist. the whole point of communism was got get rid of the social classes, total social equality. but look at china ... laborers work 6 days a week, clerks 5. i guess i dont need to mention payment. the rich/poor divide is unseen anywhere else in the world. its communism without socialism. which leaves not much more then autocracy.
russia at least tried to develop a true socialism. china has a social inequality, even capitalist societies would be ashamed of.[/quote]
While I was over in China it was the 18th congressional meeting, and there was all this talk about their great leader Chairman Mao and songs about him. Ugh, I hate it when people are made to worship their leaders like that, it's just creepy. They were also talking about how China has no class system, that was a laugh. Also they were talking about how China would become a great socialist nation, incorporating parts of Marxism, Maoism and Leninism. So basically, they're going to base their government upon all the failed political theories of history .
Oh also the internet over there was really crippled as far as getting information was concerned, wikipedia was blocked and the BBC, plus other things, was very annoying. _________________ The God idea is growing more impersonal and nebulous in proportion as the human mind is learning to understand natural phenomena and in the degree that science progressively correlates human and social events. -- Emma Goldman |

Some would might argue at that point that Marxism didn't fail, but was simply never implemented. |

As far as I know, it still promotes the idea of a period of tight government control, eventually giving way to a society with no government. That simply won't work, once a government gets tight control, you won't get them to give it up without forcing them. _________________ The God idea is growing more impersonal and nebulous in proportion as the human mind is learning to understand natural phenomena and in the degree that science progressively correlates human and social events. -- Emma Goldman |

lol. So true. Afterall, Chairman Mao was the one responsible for the slaughtering and torturing of my grandparents' family just because we owned several mountains of land. My grandma was traumatize by the whole ordeal.
The information block was indeed a pleasant surprise for those who left the country for the first time, especially during the SARS where the peasants in country will have no hope of getting informed. One of my distance relatives who got back from China found it odd certain villages were compeletely blocked for no reasons. I bet the authorities were taking care of the disease nicely. _________________ "There will be more joy in heaven over the tear-bathed face of a repentant sinner than over the white robes of a hundred just men."
